It is almost July. The days here reach their full stretch, and now invisible to our naked eye, they will imperceptibly begin to shorten within the next week.
Have you achieved all you hoped by this mid-way mark?
This brave new world of independent authors reveals its full demand as the publishing revolution continues to turn.
Authors ascribe to forums through the night, and step with guilt into their garden in the bright fullness of day.
They learn to run business, and full diaries, to speak in public, and analyse statistics. They busy themselves online, in the outside world, and still they write, and dream, and create.
The sun shines, and the moon awakes. The laptops hum, and the soft music soothes as words are woven into this web of energy and hope.
So to all of you who write, and paint, and dream – may the rest of the year bring you whatever it is you seek:
‘I know where I am going and I know the truth, and I don’t have to be what you want me to be. I’m free to be what I want.’
