How do you decide on your book title?
If a story occurs to me, I sometimes scribble down the imagined title it might become…
Tea and tulips
The Parisienne and the flower boy
Just a title to embody where my thoughts are straying. That is fun and easy.
But when you are writing your novel, how is it for you? I find it quite hard.
The thrust of the book is there, and what I might want to say. The plot could define it, or the characters on its stage. Perhaps a chance comment within its words?
Often a publisher will want to change the title the author has chosen. Or a film studio. Or the readers!
Here are some more thoughts on titles. Enjoy!
