May day Blog

It’s May 1st.

Maypoles.

Love.

Life.

As we get older, we seem to pick up so much baggage. Like a barnacled whale we push on through the seas of life, which seem a little heavier as the years pass. Good years, bad years, but eventually, – at different points for each person, perhaps – we seem to stop.

Have you reached that point yet?

Then listen to the inspiration of the wise ones. The spiritual healers, the nature-lovers, and those that give to others so hard and without question their current carries them right on with no resistance.

Listen to the wind in the trees, and across the ocean. To the cacophony of noise in a city going about its daily life.

Life.

Renewal with each breath we take. A fresh opportunity to change, if that is what is needed. To laugh, if it was missing. To love.

In the end it all comes down to love, doesn’t it?

Have a beautiful Mayday, wherever you are.

week-ends = family!

Consequences 1: Burt on a Friday

winter scene

A new year has begun – so let’s tweak the Friday quotes – to spice it up in 2016 let’s play the old game of consequences, or whatever you call it over the Ocean?!

Each Friday quote should link…and off we go – I’ll begin!

(If you want to join in, just add one in a comment, and I will pick it up and carry on from there…)

‘…all that happens leaves its traces upon the earth by nightfall…’

Happy New Year!

And welcome if you have discovered my blog for the first time. It is a very casual mix as described in the heading, of all things I love: Life, wildlife, and booklife!

I am a children/ young adults author, and am currently working on a non-fantasy fiction with an ecological theme and plenty of fireworks! For news of my latest novel release please keep an eye out here, or on my Facebook Page.

https://www.facebook.com/IsabelBurtNovels/

There are tabs for reviews, novel blurbs and all you may desire from my home page. I hope you enjoy browsing. As to this blog, well, once a month I sit down and post a little something here. There is so much noise online, I think this is enough for me, and hopefully for my followers. Please take a look at those I follow – there are some wonderful creative and spiritual inspirations amongst them.

Once a week I post a quotation – each with its own different emphasis.

I hope they raise a Friday smile, or dream, to cheer your week-end. Today is Friday so I am posting my monthly blog and quote on the same day – let’s see what happens! Please feel free to comment on the quotes…

See you in February, I’m off to the Treetops!

Blog of December

Snow horizon

Happy December to you all! I love this month, for its message of hope and love, of family, and of spirituality. I think it manages to push through despite the consumer hijacking of recent decades.

I hope you find some peace and joy in moments of reflection.

After my little book party in Hunts, Rugby, on the 5th December, I aim to do so, whilst enjoying the opportunity to continue with the research and planning on my latest novel – a departure from pure fantasy, but staying firmly in the realms of mystical joy, natural mysteries, and the humour to be found in man!

PEACE AND JOY TO YOU ALL!

There is a French quote : ‘Plus ca change (plus c’est la meme chose)’

The best translation of its meaning I found is that it is ‘used to express resigned acknowledgement of the fundamental immutability of human nature and institutions.’

So I will give my Friday quote a little direction henceforth – my aim is to show this quote in the literature that I love. From children’s literature, to plays, poetry, and philosophy. To show not only it working within the words, but in the writing community.

What was once said by Aristotle can probably be found in a version of its time in the latest kindle bestseller.

‘Plus ca change’

I hope you enjoy the journey – see you on Friday!tumblr_mcu0m7anrT1rqgv0oo1_1280
